This webinar introduces healthcare researchers to Bayesian meta-analysis methods, challenging the perception that these methods are inaccessible to non-statistical researchers.

The session demonstrates how Bayesian approaches enhance traditional methods through their better handling of uncertainty, missing data, and diverse evidence sources, ultimately providing more robust and intuitive frameworks for evidence-based decision making.

The session is open to everyone, and is of particular interest to non-meta-analysts.

Presenter Bio

Prof. Gian Luca Di Tanna focuses on making biostatistical methods accessible for healthcare decision-making, with particular expertise in Bayesian approaches and evidence synthesis spanning over 25 years. As Full Professor at SUPSI and former Head of Biostatistics at the George Institute for Global Health, he bridges theory and practice in biostatistics, meta-analysis and health economics. A Chartered Statistician recognized among Stanford's Top 2% Scientists, he recently co-authored with Robert Grant the book "Bayesian Meta-Analysis: A Practical Introduction" (CRC Press, 2025).
